11 – 21 June 2025
Come and join us on a cultural adventure that you will never forget.
In June we will fly to West Kalimantan ( the Indonesian name for Borneo ) and immerse ourselves into the way of life of the indigenous Dayak people who will be our hosts for this 9 day journey.
This will truly be a authentic cultural immersion experience as we will stay with the Dayak people in traditional longhouses, venture into the ancient rain forests with them to gather food and learn about their rituals and ancient wisdom.
Highlights:
We will witness traditional dance performances, listen to the beautiful healing sounds of the Sape, celebrate one of their most important ceremonies – Gawai.
Gawai marks the end of the rice harvesting season and it is a time of thanksgiving, reunions, and paying respects to the elders and ancestors.
This cultural tour will take you on a profound exploration of Borneo’s indigenous Dayak communities, traditional ways of life and breathtaking natural beauty.
We fly from Bali on June 11 to Kuching in Malaysia Borneo where we spend 2 days and then head south across the border into West Kalimantan and the Kapuas Hulu region where we will spend the next 7 days , and then return to Kuching on June 20.
This happens to be perfect timing for those wanting to experience the Rainforest World Music Festival which takes place from June 20 – 22. Information here https://rwmf.net/
