25 February – 10 March 2027
In February next year, I’ll be partnering once again with my long-time colleague, Mark Rayner. Mark and I have led photography workshops together for over 14 years, and i think we bring a synergistic balance to every workshop. Mark’s passion lies in capturing wildlife and expansive landscapes, while my focus is on cultural storytelling and human connection.
Together, we’ve crafted a dynamic experience —blending the thrill of nature, and capturing exotic wildlife with intimate cultural insights. Our workshops thrive on this complementary vision, fostering not just learning but a genuinely fun and immersive adventure.

This journey is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers alike. From intimate encounters with orangutans and endemic bird species in Borneo and West Bali, to the prehistoric allure of Komodo dragons, each day offers rare opportunities to capture Indonesia’s extraordinary biodiversity. With every landscape and cultural event, you’ll find the perfect frame. We will explore the lush jungles of Borneo, the mythical isles of Komodo, and the cultural heart of Bali during its most sacred day. Over 14 days, you’ll document wild orangutans in Tanjung Puting, sail the turquoise waters of Komodo in search of dragons, and immerse yourself in Bali’s unique rituals leading up to Nyepi, the Day of Silence. This curated adventure offers unmatched opportunities to capture Indonesia’s wildlife, landscapes, and cultural vibrancy in one seamless photographic journey.
Why This Journey Is Special
In just two weeks, participants experience three very different sides of Indonesia: the rainforests of Borneo and its endangered orangutans, the dragons and island landscapes of Komodo, and the rich Hindu culture of Bali during the island’s most important annual festival. The combination of wildlife, indigenous traditions, village life, spectacular landscapes and unique photographic opportunities makes this a remarkably diverse journey that few visitors ever experience in a single trip.
