Let Turkey ignite your passion for photography as you capture its essence in every frame.
We start our journey in the ancient city of Istanbul, spending two days exploring the streets, traditional markets and beautiful architecture, including the grand bizarre, which has been in operation since the 1400’s.
Then onto Cappadocia, for some incredible landscape photography, as we explore the less touristy areas and venture down the back roads to photograph the amazing natural rock formations which have shaped the topography of the Goreme Valley. There will be an option to photograph from a hot air balloon above the spectacular sites of the valley.
Then to Ankara to wander through the old quarter, built around the ruins of an ancient citadel, for some people and architectural photography.
Mardin is next, where thousands of years of history comes alive, its white gold buildings located on a hill above the plains, which will stimulate our creativity, and an opportunity to capture some of the most spectacular photos of the journey.There are beautiful monasteries and ancient ruins in this area, which we will explore.
Sanliurfa is next, which is one of the most important religious sites in Turkey and one of the oldest inhabited regions on earth. It was the birthplace of agriculture, and we will visit a 12,000 year old temple. We will also spend some time in the outdoor market photographing street life.
Then to Adiyaman, the Kurdish city and more landscape photography of the surrounding Mountains and Plateaus, and the ancient ruins. We then return to Istanbul where the trip concludes.

- Explore Old City of Istanbul (UNESCO World Heritage Site), reflecting cultural influences of the many empires that once ruled here.
- Photo opportunity in both Spice Bazaar, overpowers you with so many aromas you may not have previously experienced and Grand Bazaar, dazzle you with so many shiny objects and such an array of colour.
- Visit off the beaten path neighborhoods; Fener and Balat in Istanbul
- Photo an amazing landscape of Cappadocia (UNESCO World Heritage Site) including dramatic expanses of soft volcanic rock, shaped by erosion into towers, cones, valleys, and caves. Rock-cut churches and underground tunnel complexes from the Byzantine and Islamic eras are scattered throughout the countryside.
- Experience cooking class following with lunch with locals in Cappadocia.
- Photograph of pottery master, witnessing both the shaping of vessels and the intricate process of decorating them; and local ladies, weaving their silk or wool Turkish rugs that are double-knotted in Cappadocia.
- Photo opportunity of Whirling Dervishes with their long skirt billow giving the impression that they are floating on air in Cappadocia.
- Visit Mardin, known for its Artuqid architecture and strategic location on a rocky hill near the Tigris River that rises steeply over the flat plains and photo people strolling through narrow streets, local craftsmen selling traditional handmade products, impressive architectural structures, and extraordinary landscapes…
- Photograph distinctive T-shaped pillars, carved with images of wild animals, providing insight into the way of life and beliefs of people living in Upper Mesopotamia about 11,500 years ago in Gobeklitepe (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
- Photo of traditional copper souvenir art and craft products in old bazaar, Sanliurfa.
- Sunset shoot amid monumental ancient sculptures, which were erected in the 1st century BC, during the reign of King Antiochos I of the Commagene Kingdom on the Mount Nemrut (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
